As Payroll Team Lead, you’ll play a central role in creating confidence and trust across Tabcorp by helping ensure our people are paid accurately and on time. Working within People & Culture, you’ll bring leadership, expertise and calm direction to a fast-paced environment while influencing service quality, compliance and continuous improvement across payroll operations. 

Your role, your impact 

Reporting to the Senior Manager P&C Operations & Payroll, you’ll lead daily payroll operations, support a small team of payroll professionals and help deliver reliable, compliant payroll services across the business. 

Specifically, you will;

• Lead end-to-end payroll processing and review payroll outcomes 

• Guide and support payroll team members through coaching 

• Manage payroll queries, escalations and complex scenarios 

• Monitor compliance, audits and payroll quality checks 

• Continuously improve processes and contribute to system enhancements 

• Lead and foster a continuous improvement mindset within the team. 

• Partner with stakeholders to maintain payroll service standards 

What you'll need to succeed 

You’re a collaborative payroll professional who enjoys helping others succeed, and your inquisitive nature helps build trust in the team by always driving them and the function to improve. You balance accuracy with great service and bring a practical approach to solving problems. 

• Experienced in end-to-end payroll processing environments, ideally having worked with multiple systems and tackled a range of problems across various organisations. Experience with Aurion would be advantageous, but not essential. 

• Strong capability in payroll legislation and compliance 

• Proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively 

• Experience leading a small team and the ability to coach, support and develop team capability 

• Experienced in payroll audits, reconciliations and reporting 

• Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to problem-solving

• Confidence to innovate, test and learn and drive a strong continuous improvement mindset in the team
