Why this role matters

Ready to make a real impact? In this role, your balanced judgement and people‑first mindset help keep play safe and enjoyable for everyone. As a Safer Gambling Advisor, you’ll champion the programs and safeguards that support our customers every day.

Your role, your impact

Reporting to a Team Lead, this is a front‑line operational role focused primarily on monitoring customer activity, analysing customer behaviour, and conducting customer interventions, predominantly through phone calls. Your work will directly impact customer outcomes, player safety, and the organisation’s safer gambling obligations.

You will:

  • Actively monitor customer activity and analyse behavioural and risk indicators to identify potential gambling harm
  • Conduct timely customer interventions, with a strong emphasis on supportive phone conversations with customers who may be experiencing gambling harm
  • Follow established intervention frameworks and escalation protocols, accurately documenting outcomes and actions
  • Process self‑exclusion applications, renewals, breaches, and revocations in line with policy and regulatory requirements

What you'll need to succeed

You thrive working in a high‑volume and operational environment. You bring strong judgement, resilience, and the ability to balance empathy with regulatory obligations.

  • Proven experience having conversations with customers over the phone and the ability to remain calm, empathetic and clear - even during difficult or confronting conversations
  • Great communication skills with the ability to listen actively, explain issues clearly and ask thoughtful questions
  • A positive attitude, a desire to learn and a willingness to suggest improvements to how we work
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team by engaging positively with teammates, contributing to team tasks and sharing ideas and insights
  • Flexibility for a rotating seven-day roster with extended hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Proven capability in highly regulated environments and knowledge of or willingness to develop expertise of relevant legislation, including safer gambling,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on risk and obligations along with the ability to apply judgment independently and escalate when required
  • An understanding of betting concepts would be beneficial, but is not essential
