Game to join us?

Love live TV and high-performance broadcasting?

We’re on the hunt for a skilled and reliable MCR Operator to join our lively Master Control Room (MCR) team at Sky Racing.

You'll play a critical role in keeping our channels on air, working at the heart of live racing and sporting coverage across Australia and beyond. From incoming feeds to outgoing signals, your work ensures everything runs smoothly — so our audiences don’t miss a moment.

The MCR team is the engine room of our broadcast operation — overseeing, coordinating and managing all transmission signals. Working together with studio, production, outside broadcast and post-production teams, we support both digital and linear Sky Racing channels to deliver a world-class viewer experience.

As an MCR Operator, you’ll be responsible for the setup, coordination, and day-to-day management of our contribution, distribution and transmission network. You’ll take pride in getting things right the first time and have a steady hand under pressure — especially when seconds count.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate a variety of television and comms equipment in a live broadcast environment
  • Monitor and manage all transmission and signal flows across our network
  • Perform core Master Control tasks and step into Coordinator or Senior duties when needed
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time, escalating when required
  • Contribute to the development and rollout of new systems alongside our Technology team
  • Deliver accurate, timely reports on operations and any incidents
  • Build strong relationships across technical and production teams
  • Uphold broadcast quality, signal integrity, and an exceptional customer experience — always

What You’ll Bring

  • 4+ years in a broadcast operations environment (live TV preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of SDI, NDI and IP video workflows
  • A clear, logical approach to troubleshooting in high-pressure situations
  • Comfortable with digital routing, signal switching, scheduling tools (e.g. ScheduAll)
  • A working understanding of audio/video infrastructure, comms, and systems integration
  • Calm under pressure with great time management, teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
  • A genuine interest in racing, sports or live events is a bonus
