The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Legal Counsel – Corporate, Commercial & Disputes to join our Legal team in a role well suited to a developing in-house lawyer. This position offers exposure to a broad mix of corporate and commercial advisory work, alongside hands-on experience supporting the management of disputes and contentious matters across the business.

Reporting to the General Counsel – Wagering & Corporate, you’ll work closely with senior lawyers and business stakeholders to provide practical legal support. You’ll assist with commercial transactions, help manage disputes under supervision, and build experience assessing legal risk in a regulated environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Draft, review, and support negotiation of commercial and corporate agreements
  • Assist with legal advice across corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters
  • Support the management of disputes and contentious matters, including coordinating with external counsel
  • Help prepare instructions, review advice, and track progress of claims and disputes
  • Assist the business on contractual issues, complaints, and other contentious matters
  • Collaborate across the Legal team to deliver timely, high-quality legal support

About You

You’re an early-career to mid-level lawyer who is keen to broaden your in-house experience across both advisory and disputes work. You’re organised, curious, and comfortable working under guidance while developing confidence and capability.

You bring:

  • Post-admission experience in corporate and commercial law (in-house or private practice)
  • Some exposure to disputes or contentious matters (desirable, not essential)
  • Strong drafting, research, and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style
  • Experience or interest in regulated industries

Why Tabcorp?

You’ll gain hands-on exposure to complex commercial and disputes matters across wagering, media, and major partnerships, supported by experienced senior lawyers who are invested in your development. The Legal team is down-to-earth, commercially aligned, and focused on building strong in-house capability.
