Your role in action

Reporting to the Platform Engineering Leader, this role plays a critical part in designing, building, and operating cloud platforms that support business‑critical applications. You’ll work closely with delivery teams, guide best practice, and ensure platforms remain reliable, secure, and ready for peak demand.

• Design, build, and operate highly available, secure, and scalable cloud platform services
• Provide hands-on engineering support across compute, networking, storage, and security
• Partner with delivery teams to support application onboarding and lifecycle management
• Enable continuous delivery through automation, Infrastructure as Code, and pipeline optimisation
• Act as an escalation point for complex platform issues impacting production services
• Support production platforms through on-call rotations, incident response, and continuous improvement

What you'll need to succeed

You’re a hands-on platform engineer who thrives in fast‑paced environments and takes pride in building reliable systems. You bring a collaborative mindset, a passion for improvement, and the confidence to support critical platforms when it counts.

• Strong hands-on experience supporting production applications in AWS cloud environments
• Proven capability with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and continuous delivery pipelines
• Experience translating application requirements into robust, scalable platform solutions
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents in high-availability environments
• Ability to apply security, compliance, and cost optimisation best practices effectively
