What you’ll do

The Safer Gambling teams are responsible for executing safer gambling business controls across wagering and media. This includes executing processes and controls around marketing and promotions, self-exclusion, and customer monitoring of potential problem gamblers. As a Safer Gambling Advisor you will:

  • Conduct customer monitoring to identify potential problem gamblers by analysing gambling activity
  • Manage intervention protocols including completing calls to customers identified as potential problem gamblers.
  • Process self-exclusion applications, renewals breaches and revocations.
  • Review marketing & promotional material to ensure Safer Gambling compliance.
  • Respond to queries from business teams (e.g. customer service centre, retail, etc.) and external queries (e.g. community services, regulators, customers, etc.)
  • Be the first escalation point for customer and/or regulator safer gambling complaints
  • Provide subject matter expertise advice on projects and initiatives, including reviews of Safer Gambling Risk Self Assessments.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience working with highly regulated businesses/industries and knowledge of various legislation (e.g. AML/CTF, Safer Gambling, Wagering, Privacy etc.) – preferable, but not mandatory.
  • Entry-level experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance, consulting, or process improvement with a medium to large-sized corporate organisation.
  • The ability to be available to work across multiple shift patterns (day, afternoon, weekend) and rotating rosters.
  • High levels of empathy for customers, resilient in the face of potential non-friendly/non-complimentary engagements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and adapt to change.
