You will be designing, building and supporting shared wagering services and capabilities that are reliable, high performing and easy to access across the entire TAB ecosystem. Your role, your impact 
Reporting to an Engineering Lead, this role shapes the platforms that underpin TAB’s wagering experience. You’ll design and deliver common services used across teams, balancing stability, speed and innovation while setting technical direction and lifting capability across the group. 

• Design and build shared wagering services used across the TAB ecosystem 

• Support highly available systems to meet demanding performance and reliability expectations 

• Create clean, maintainable code using statically typed programming languages 

• Optimise platforms using effective algorithms, data structures and thoughtful design choices 

• Collaborate closely with engineers, product partners and stakeholders across the business 

 
What you'll need to succeed 

You’re a confident and curious senior engineer who enjoys solving complex problems at scale. You bring a thoughtful approach to design, strong technical foundations and a collaborative mindset, with a desire to build systems that are dependable, adaptable and built to last. 

• Significant experience developing solutions with statically typed languages such as Java or C# 

• Proven capability building and supporting dot .NET Core services in production environments 

• Strong background designing distributed systems with high availability and performance expectations 

• Experience applying functional programming techniques to improve safety, speed and code quality 

• Ability to work across cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) 

• Working knowledge of relational and non relational database design and access patterns
